How To Build Jet Boat Seats
I posted pics of the start of the upholstery on my boat thread but i thought i would start this new thread and try to document the entire process from start to finish, just in case anyone else wants to try and build their own from scratch.. Learning how to make boat seat plans is the first step to customizing your boat. before you tackle the task of trying to remove old seats, tear out old decks or go to your local marina to purchase all kinds of new boat seats, you need to have a plan.. Re: how i made my boat seats.....(guide) a few things i did when laying out the vinyl patterns. for starters, on the face piece, you need to add 5/8" to 1" extra along the width and length for a seam allowance, you can mark these allowances on the back side of the vinyl....
I paid $1500. biggest thing is that when you build your own frames everything is a start from scratch setup. what i dropped off what i got back erwins upholstery in long beach off of cherry blvd. if you have existing seats and just need a refoam/recover they can disassemble the existing seat and use it as a template. much cheaper.. Re: jet boat seats « reply #5 on: february 08, 2007, 02:18:57 pm » i make two ribbed bucket seats with composite coring in base for mounting to stringers, they also have the trim around the edges to protect the upholstery, in white gelcoat ,also have them without coring. 125.00 with coring, 100.00 without.. Fiberglass bucket seats, jet boat performance. might suggest to you not to overbuild your interior , these boats are very weight sensitive and it easy to build lots of "seat structure " into a mini i'm amazed sometimes at just how much some of this ends up weighing. recommend you condsider the "spartan" approach using lightweight glass.
